Hi, and welcome to the blog!

I’m Kayli Robles, your expert bookkeeper and QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

I’m excited to launch this blog, which I hope will be a helpful resource for small business owners who could use a little more clarity, confidence, and support in managing their financial systems.

To kick things off, I thought I’d start by introducing myself, my business, and what you can expect in this space.

My story and background

I’ve always found comfort in clarity and organization — even as a kid, I loved to organize things for fun. So it’s no surprise that I eventually found myself studying accounting in college. It was there that I realized accounting was about more than numbers — it was about understanding the inner workings of a business, and how all the pieces fit together.

My love for clarity and organization had found a place to shine.

After graduating, I spent four years as an auditor at Moss Adams, giving me a front-row seat to observe businesses of every size and industry.

It was also where I noticed a consistent issue: business owners were constantly stretched thin, overwhelmed, and trying to manage everything themselves.

A big part of the problem was that incredibly smart, capable, passionate people were burdened by the demands of managing their books. Bookkeeping is a skill — an entire job on its own — and it makes sense that doing it all themselves was creating unnecessary stress.

During my time as an auditor, I realized how much I enjoyed helping someone understand their numbers — I love that moment when everything clicks. So I started feeling pulled to work more closely with business owners and operators.

Eventually, in pursuit of more meaning, more connection, and more direct impact, I made the pivot to bookkeeping.

Why I started Robles Bookkeeping

It turns out, I genuinely love bookkeeping. To me, it’s not a chore — it’s a chance to lean into my appreciation for clarity and organization while applying my skills and expertise to support business owners and operators.

But what really moved me to start Robles Bookkeeping was seeing how many business owners were wearing all the hats. They weren’t doing their books because they enjoyed it (like some of us do), but because they felt they had to. It was taking precious time and energy away from building and running their businesses.

Starting Robles Bookkeeping was a way to give business owners their time and mental space back.

It’s truly meaningful to me to be able to say, “I can take this off your plate.” Making someone’s day easier or helping them better understand their business through a financial lens is genuinely fulfilling.

That’s why I see Robles Bookkeeping as more than just a bookkeeping service. It’s a business built on trust, clarity, and encouragement, where business owners feel supported, not judged.

My approach to bookkeeping (and business)

I truly want my clients to succeed, so my approach is warm, supportive, and encouraging. Of course I’ll handle the financial details, but I also want to show up as a partner — someone you can rely on to bring clarity to the numbers.

Your business doesn’t need more complexity. It needs calm clarity, so you can feel empowered to grow.

Accuracy is foundational to my work: clean, precise, and thoughtfully organized records are habits that have stayed with me since my auditing days. I might be a bit of a perfectionist, but I channel it into careful, detail-oriented work that brings order to chaos.

And perhaps most importantly, I’m passionate about helping clients feel confident in their business decisions.

My approach is to balance precision with empathy: I meet my clients where they are, even if we’re starting with messy books (or no books at all). I give insights in plain English, not accounting jargon, because I believe bookkeeping should feel accessible, not intimidating.

Beyond bookkeeping (a bit about me)

Running this business has given me a huge sense of purpose and fulfillment. I love getting to know my clients, and I’m always thrilled when I can help someone feel lighter or more confident. The same holds true in my personal life!

I’m upbeat, positive, and down-to-earth, and I like to think I bring that energy to my work. Who said business had to be rigid or boring?

When I’m not working, I love to be outside — nature is my reset button! If I’m not out hiking, you’ll find me spending time with my two cats, Mars and Jupiter, or going salsa and bachata dancing. (Exercise doesn’t need to be rigid or boring, either!)

My vision for this blog

This blog is an extension of my favorite part of the job: supporting small business owners as they do the impactful but demanding work of building and running their businesses.

It’s a place for me to share what I’ve learned as an accountant and bookkeeper, and to cheer you on in the process!

In this space, I’ll take a simple, grounded approach to business and financial topics that can otherwise feel overwhelming. Together we’ll move from complexity to clarity, calm, and confidence.

And above all, this space is a reminder for you: You don’t have to do everything alone

This was a great read, Kayli. I really appreciate how you described the importance of clarity, organization, and supportive bookkeeping for small business owners. Many local businesses face the same challenges you mentioned—trying to manage everything themselves while feeling overwhelmed by financial tasks.

As someone involved in Bookkeeping Buffalo NY, I found your perspective relatable and refreshing. At KD Accounting & Tax, we also see how much relief owners feel when they have someone who can break things down clearly and handle the details without judgment.

Your approach to combining accuracy with empathy truly stands out. Looking forward to reading more posts from your blog and the insights you’ll be sharing with business owners.
